Russian fuel depot on fire for days after drone attack

Date:

A large tank farm in Russia’s Rostov region has been on fire for days after being hit by a Ukrainian drone. An attack also caused a fire in a tank farm in southern Russia.

There were no injuries, the governor of the Rostov region said. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, 12 drones were intercepted on Wednesday night: four over the Rostov region and eight over the Voronezh region in central Russia. Residents of two villages had to temporarily leave their homes.

Flight operations temporarily suspended
As a result of the drone attacks, the airports of Kazan and Nizhnekamsk, east of Moscow, have temporarily suspended their operations. It is said that this was a preventive measure.

In the Kirov region, about 1,200 kilometers from Ukraine, authorities also recorded a drone attack on a fuel depot. But there was no fire. The war in Ukraine has been going on for two and a half years. Combat drones are now being repeatedly fired at targets far behind the front lines.
