Dispute over sleeping place – attempted murder in Vienna park: “Willi” turned himself in!

Date:

Three days after the Vienna police launched a public search for an attempted murder in Sigmund Freud Park, the suspect has now turned himself in at a police station. He is a 59-year-old Austrian whose nickname is “Willi”. He is said to have stabbed a man several times in the stomach on the night of July 30.

Like the 53-year-old victim, the suspect is also said to be homeless. The man did not comment on the allegations. He was taken to a correctional facility.

A dispute over sleeping arrangements was probably the cause of the attack
The two homeless men clashed in the Sigmund Freud Park in Vienna-Alsergrund and beat each other up. The reason for the attack was said to be a dispute over where to sleep. Eventually, the 59-year-old pulled out a knife and seriously injured his opponent before fleeing.

The victim suffered multiple stab wounds to the stomach. Police subsequently released photos of the suspect.
