Arrested in Vienna – Trail from Carinthia led to cannabis suppliers

Date:

In August, a 44-year-old from Klagenfurt was handcuffed – he is said to have sold around 50 kilos of cannabis over the years. Now a trail led to Vienna…

“During interrogation, the man admitted that he had sold more than 50 kilos of cannabis and cannabis resin since 2020. “He partly covered his living expenses with the profits,” the police said in August. However, the origin of the medicines was still unknown; further investigation was ongoing. With success!

Supplier arrested
“After intensive further investigation into the drug trafficking in question, which has already been clarified, the main supplier of the 44-year-old from Klagenfurt was identified and arrested,” the police announced on Thursday.

It was a 45-year-old Austrian, living in Vienna, for whom the handcuffs also clicked. “The 45-year-old was arrested on August 27, 2024 – in the early morning hours – at his home address in the 2nd district of Vienna by officers from EKO Cobra, the Vienna State Criminal Police and the Carinthia State Criminal Police,” the police officers describe. The Viennese is said to have supplied the Klagenfurt resident with around 30 kg of cannabis herb since 2020.

Profit of several hundred thousand euros
The Klagenfurt resident has sold this amount in recent years, making a profit of several hundred thousand euros. “The handover of the cannabis herb always took place in the apartment of the man from Klagenfurt,” the police revealed. In the apartment in Vienna, a cannabis plantation with 72 plants that had already been harvested, professional equipment for growing addictive substances, several thousand euros in cash and various data carriers were also seized. The 45-year-old was arrested and taken to the prison in Vienna-Josefstadt.
