An extremely brave twelve-year-old was in Währinger Park with two friends on Friday afternoon and may have saved the life of a baby cat.
The teen told police that around 4:30 p.m., she saw a man put a bag on the ground and then just keep walking. A short time later, a small cat climbed out of the bag. The three girls reacted quickly and took the kitten to the nearest police station.
Suspicion of animal abuse
Fortunately, the cat was unharmed. The Animal Protection was then notified and they took the little animal under their care. Up until then, a police student had been looking after the little cat’s welfare. An investigation was opened against the unknown perpetrator on suspicion of animal abuse.
