The German Greens have been attacked by hackers several times in recent weeks. As a result, access to the “Green Network”, an internal platform of the party, has only been available to a limited extent since June 13, a spokeswoman for the German news agency said, confirming a corresponding report by “Spiegel”.
On May 30, there was already an attack on the party’s IT system, after which the party filed a complaint.
“Everything points to both events coming from the same attacker. We immediately notified all necessary security authorities and the state data protection officer,” the spokeswoman said.
The party is supported, among others, by the Federal Office for Security and Information Technology (BSI) to clarify the matter. A forensic investigation is also underway.
