A previously unpublished wartime document from Hamas’s military intelligence service from spring 2024 aims to show how the terrorist group plans to manipulate the international community, put pressure on hostage families and rebuild its military strength.
Israel has been negotiating with the Palestinian terror organization for months to end the war. Hamas refuses to release Israeli hostages, including elderly and young women.
International maneuvers planned
The document also includes demands such as the release of 100 terrorists held in Israel. At the same time, Hamas plans to restore its military capabilities, supported by international political maneuvers, Bild reports.
No interest in the end of the war
Hamas would have no interest in ending the war quickly, even though parts of the Gaza Strip have been destroyed and countless civilians have been killed. On the contrary, the document speaks of the need to “improve the key clauses in the agreement,” even if this delays the negotiations.
Targeted killing of hostages is part of the tactic
Hamas uses psychological pressure on the families of prisoners to increase public pressure on the Israeli government. Videos of hostages being forced to criticize their government and the targeted killing of hostages are part of this tactic.
Even during a ceasefire, the hostages will continue to be used as leverage to force Israel to make concessions.
