The communists are gaining momentum throughout Austria. They want to participate in the elections for the National Council in parliament. The ‘Krone’ spoke with the Carinthian top candidate Bea Samwald about the election program, the ideas and why communism has become more modern.
“Crown”: Until now, Carinthia has not been a fertile breeding ground for the KPÖ. Do you think this will change in these elections?
Bea Samwald: Yes, definitely. I am always told that Carinthia is a difficult place for left-wing parties, I have already noticed that with Jong Links. But there is interest. Because there is absolutely a need for left-wing politics in Carinthia. And we are a participatory party and that is also the core of the matter. So we can win a lot in Carinthia.
