“Will bomb” – bomb threat prevented concert in Stiftsgarten

Date:

Actually, harmonious sounds should have floated through the garden of the Sint-Florianabdij on Friday evening. But nothing came of it, because an employee found a bomb threat in the guestbook of the literature garden. Although the police did not find any danger, the performance was postponed for safety reasons.

It was supposed to be a mild summer evening with musical pleasure. The vocal ensemble “VOCAMUS” was supposed to perform on Friday evening in the “St. Florian Garden Concerts” will take place in the monastery. But everything turned out very differently: a monastery employee had recently discovered a threat of attack in the guest book of the literature garden.

“I’m going to bomb it.”
It said that he or she would ‘bomb it’. Naturally, all the alarm bells went off and the police were called. Officers searched the garden and surrounding areas and found no immediate danger. However, for safety reasons, the concert was postponed.

Choir saved the evening
“These kinds of threats must be taken seriously, including all their consequences,” said Mayor Bernd Schützeneder (SPÖ), who was there himself and informed the concertgoers and residents present about the situation. “Thanks to the police for their prompt action, to the audience for their patience and to the Vocamus choir!”, because: The ensemble gave a spontaneous replacement concert without notes, instruments or technology.
