Trick theft in Vienna! A 95-year-old man was robbed in his apartment in the Landstrasse district on Friday by a fake electrician and his accomplices. The perpetrators were able to get hold of cash in the lower five-figure euro range.
Five-figure amounts of cash were stolen
Together they stole cash in the low five-figure Euro range, as well as two radios, police reported.
The perpetrator claimed he had to check the fuses in the pensioner’s apartment. While he was instructing the 95-year-old to turn on the water in the bathroom, a second perpetrator entered the apartment.
The incident lasted no less than five minutes, after which the perpetrators fled.
