The next animal mission challenges the officials in the spa town of Baden: a runaway pony calls the city police. The animal was provided with hay and carrots.
“Be careful, pony on the road,” was an unusual message from the Baden city police. The animal escaped unnoticed from its home on the Römerberg on Thursday night and went on a reconnaissance trip. After the alarm was raised around 4:30 a.m., the police immediately tracked down the four-legged friend.
After about an hour, the fleeing pony was spotted on the parking deck of the Römertherme. An employee of the city garden service even managed to tie him up with a leash converted into a collar until the officers arrived.
The pony was then escorted to the city police garage and cared for with hay and carrots until its owner from Gumpoldskirchen arrived. In the meantime, the people of Baden have become accustomed to a lot when it comes to animal missions.
Recently, runaway children were brought home under police escort. “The pony alarm is a highlight and will go down in the history of the city police,” smiles deputy commander Sebastian Stockbauer.
