A German (37) in Tyrol did something terrifying: first he stole a car, then he caused an accident with it and an innocent pensioner (82) was injured.
On Friday, the 37-year-old German stole the unlocked car from a business premises in Kematen. The man intended to drive the stolen vehicle to his home address in Germany.
Collision with local pensioner
At around 12:50 p.m., he was driving east on Völser Landstrasse, where he collided with an oncoming car driven by an 82-year-old resident.
Both vehicles in the ditch
The impact caused both vehicles to leave the road and end up in the ditch. Both drivers in the accident were rescued from the vehicles by the volunteer fire brigade and rescue workers from Kematen.
The German driver was seriously injured. The 82-year-old Austrian suffered significant injuries. Both were admitted to the Innsbruck clinic.
