Hit with full force by the gondola
The 20-year-old was hit with full force by a moving gondola during a roller coaster test ride late Monday morning and was left seriously injured under the tracks of the ride. First aid began within minutes and was intensified by arriving rescuers.
Attempts at resuscitation failed
Despite all efforts, the young man’s condition deteriorated rapidly and resuscitation had to be started during transport. With continued resuscitation efforts, he was taken to the trauma room of a clinic, where he eventually succumbed to his severe injuries.
A crisis team was called to the scene for the remaining ride workers. The police are investigating the exact cause of the accident.
