A 29-year-old acrobat was seriously injured during a performance by Circus Krone in Burghausen, Bavaria. She fell from six meters – while performing in front of a shocked audience.
The 29-year-old was performing a free-floating feat with her partner (48) on Saturday evening when she suddenly slipped and fell into the depths, police reported.
After the accident, the injured acrobat was treated by emergency doctors in the ring and then taken to hospital in a rescue helicopter. The exact cause of the fall is unclear.
The whole team hopes for recovery.”
The acrobat couple, known as the “Duo Flash of Splash” and consisting of a Russian and a Ukrainian. The circus reacted with concern: “The entire team of Circus Krone hopes and prays for Amalia Avanesian that she will recover quickly and completely,” a press spokeswoman said.
Circus Krone claims to be the largest circus in the world. It has been repeatedly criticized by animal protection organizations.
