After a noisy extravaganza, a 17-year-old student driver “borrowed” his mother’s car – and crashed drunk into a creek bed in Leonding (Upper Austria) on Sunday. After the accident, the young man called his mother for help to cover up the matter. However, this attempt failed miserably.
The 17-year-old from Leonding – who is currently completing his L17 driver’s license training – will probably regret this action for a long time. After a night of drinking, he ‘borrowed’ his mother’s car on Sunday morning around 7:00 am – without her knowledge.
The learner driver then veered off the road on a left turn and ended up in a creek bed with the car, where it got stuck on a large tree trunk.
Almost one in a thousand
After the accident, the 17-year-old called his mother and a towing service to help cover up the accident, according to police. The teen was unsuccessful because a patrol was called to the scene.
A breathalyzer test on the young Leondinger showed a small permille. Fortunately, he remained unharmed and a report will be filed with the district administration and the Public Prosecution Service.
