The Israeli army has killed another Hezbollah commander in Lebanon. The attack took place in a suburb of the capital Beirut. According to Lebanese information, at least two people were killed and 15 others were wounded (see video above).
One of the dead was Mohammed Hussein Srur, who, according to Israeli sources, led numerous drone and cruise missile attacks on Israel. Lebanese security forces have already confirmed the death.
Eyewitnesses said the third floor of an 11-story apartment building was hit. They reportedly heard at least two loud explosions. Smoke was seen rising and ambulances rushed to the scene. The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported at least two dead and 15 injured.
Hezbollah stronghold
The suburb is considered a Hezbollah stronghold. Last week, a senior military commander of the militia, Ibrahim Aqil, was assassinated there. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered the army to continue operations in Lebanon. “There will be no ceasefire in the north,” Foreign Minister Israel Katz confirmed on Thursday.
Israeli airstrikes hit about 75 Hezbollah targets on Thursday night, including weapons caches and launchers.
Hundreds of thousands on the run
On the Lebanese side, hundreds of thousands of people have already left the border area. Many of them are registered in emergency centers. Some fled to relatives, others slept in the streets. Hezbollah, for its part, is constantly firing rocket salvoes at Israel.
