The cold season hasn’t even started yet and yet Graz’s children’s hospital is already operating at full capacity! Clinic director Ernst Eber looks ahead to winter with concern: why parents sleep on the floor and why light will only be seen at the end of the tunnel in fourteen years.
“Kron”: Mr. Eber, we are at the beginning of the infection season. What is the current situation at the Graz Children’s Hospital?
Ernst Eber: As usual, the number of patients increases one to two weeks after school. We’ve been feeling it since last weekend. In some cases we only have one or two beds available in the normal department in the morning, and there is already overcrowding. Even though it is only September, we are already experiencing logistical problems.
