The final report of the investigation is available. It is about a sensational incident on January 13 in the neurosurgery department of the LKH University Hospital in Graz. A doctor’s 13-year-old daughter was present when a farmer who had an accident was operated on. Whether she drilled open his skull is a question that now needs to be clarified.

Seven people (three doctors and four surgical assistants) are being investigated on suspicion of causing serious bodily harm as a result of an improperly performed operation. The surgeon and her colleague have now been dismissed from the CAGs and the rest of the team has been given a stern warning.

According to the Styrian Hospital Association (KAGes), the operation itself was said to have been free of complications. However, only interns and students are allowed in the operating room.
