“And the high season is coming”

Illness, overwork and the resulting layoffs are said not only to have pushed existing doctors to the limits of their performance, but also recently to have repeatedly led to bed closures. In Amstetten even the emergency room had to be closed temporarily. “And the high season with flu and corona is coming,” they criticize the lack of solutions.
“All care available”
The State Health Agency (LGA) confirms that 257 beds are currently closed. “On average, more than 1,500 beds were available last week – care is always available in Lower Austria,” said a spokesperson. We assure you that care for internal patients is also guaranteed at all times in Amstetten. Self-referrals were handled and emergency number 144 contacted surrounding clinics. The LGA also states that more than 50 experts are currently working on the health pact: “In this way we are preparing medical care in Lower Austria for the future and at the same time maintaining our high quality standards.”
