The tenant of a golf salon at Donaupark Regina Kirchner has been waiting for two years for repairs from the damage caused by a fallen tree.
Regina Kirchner has been running the “Drunter und Drüber” on the miniature golf course in the Donaupark for 19 years. “There have never been any problems, so I am offended by the way I am being treated now,” she says.
What had happened?
Two years ago in July, part of a tree fell on the roof of the golf salon. The landlady contacted the municipality directly, since the city is the owner. “It once took six months for anyone to look at it.”
She ordered the tree removed herself and paid her insurance. The roof itself wasn’t repaired until the summer of 2023, but not completely as it has been leaking into the restaurant ever since.
Is there no money for the repairs?
“In March I received notice from the city that they were looking for a solution,” Kirchner said. Since then there has been radio silence. Former district councilor Hansjörg Schimanek: “It is clear that the budgets have been used up.”
The city says: “We are aware of the problem of water entering the Golfstüberl Drunter & Drüber. The storm damage has now been repaired. However, due to structural peculiarities and monument protection, all structural measures in this building are very complex.”
