Numerous attacks – Russia and Ukraine attack each other

Date:

Russian forces attacked 15 Ukrainian regions with drones on Thursday evening, causing damage to energy infrastructure and residential buildings. But the aggressive state cannot calm down either.

Within 24 hours, power lines and substation equipment in the Kiev, Odessa and Ivano-Frankivsk regions were damaged, the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy said on the messaging platform Telegram. The attacks led to temporary disruptions to rail services in the southern Odessa region and to household power outages. The Ukrainian air force said it shot down 78 of 105 Russian drones during the attack. Another 23 were likely affected by electronic interference measures.

Remains of Shahed drones in Ukraine:

Odessa region Governor Oleh Kiper said power had been restored to more than 3,000 consumers after the overnight attack. However, another 2,000 people were without electricity. Local authorities report that approximately fifteen drones were shot down over Kiev and the surrounding area during an air raid that lasted more than five hours. The central Ukrainian regions of Poltava, Cherkassy and Kirovograd reported minor material damage.

The Russian Defense Ministry said, according to the official Tass news agency, that Ukrainian energy facilities that supply electricity to operations of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were affected. The government in Moscow denies that civilian targets have been attacked. However, towns and villages behind the front lines are regularly shelled.

Attacks in Voronezh, Russia
Ukrainian combat drones attacked the Russian military airport Borisoglebsk in the Voronezh region on Thursday evening. The targets were arsenals with glide bombs, Sukhoi fighter jets and fuel depots, several Ukrainian media reported at the same time, citing sources in the SBU secret service. They did not provide specific information about the damage. The air base is located more than 340 kilometers from the territory controlled by Ukraine.

Fires after the attacks in Voronezh:

Earlier, the governor of the Voronezh region, Alexander Gusev, reported on Telegram about Ukrainian drone strikes. About thirty were reportedly intercepted. There was damage to over a dozen homes due to falling debris. A woman was taken to hospital with moderate splinter wounds.

The Ukrainian military also announced that it had attacked a Russian radar station with US-supplied ATACMS ballistic missiles. This was intended to reduce Russia’s capabilities for “detection, tracking and defense” of ballistic targets. No information was given about the time of the attack or the location of the radar station.
