A 17-year-old Upper Austrian man went on a daring chase from Aschach to Eferding with police on Sunday. He ran from police at speeds of up to 90km/h, repeatedly endangering pedestrians and cyclists. Now it’s raining ads for the man.
The boy was noticed because he was riding a moped without a license plate in Aschach on Sunday. A police patrol gave the young driver clear signals to stop with flashing lights and a horn. But the 17-year-old – his girlfriend was on the back seat – stepped on the gas and wanted to escape the police.
She gave chase from a safe distance. Meanwhile, the 17-year-old tried to escape the officers with some daring driving maneuvers and speeds of up to 90 km/h. The boy gave chase from Aschach along the Danube to his hometown of Eferding, repeatedly endangering pedestrians and cyclists.
The police lost sight of him at a barrier in the Brandstatt district and the 17-year-old was able to escape. For now.
Police have found a hidden moped
During the subsequent search, the officers found the moped in a storage room that the boy had left hidden there. Police eventually found the 17-year-old as the owner of the permit and visited his home.
Vehicle has been tuned
The holder of the test license also immediately admitted: Yes, he rode the moped with his girlfriend as a pillion passenger. Two subsequent checks revealed the reason for his daring escape attempt: an alcohol test showed 0.2 per mille. And during the rolling test, the boy’s moped reached a speed of 118 km/h.
The 17-year-old must now expect some reports to be filed with the district administration. The license plates – the Eferdinger had hidden them at home – were of course taken from him.
