A serious blow to the drug scene in Burgenland: four main perpetrators were arrested, thirteen dealers were reported and several weapons were seized. A total of 23 customers also placed advertisements.
The case arose following the interrogation of a drug user in January. A house search followed in the Oberwart area. Drugs, weapons and an inoperable World War II bazooka were found.
The head of the gang stopped
Detectives arrested the wanted owner (27) shortly afterwards. Then it happened in quick succession. Also an perpetrator (35) from the Baden district (Lower Austria) – he surrendered to the police in St. Michael accompanied by his lawyer – and an accomplice (68) from the Oberwart district. The suspected gang leader, a 41-year-old from the Güssing district, was arrested during a courier ride.

Cocaine, cannabis flowers and drug money were seized at his home. “The drug gang made a profit of more than 220,000 euros,” the researchers said. 12 dealers and a Styrian (40) who had cocaine, speed and cannabis oil, and 23 customers filled in advertisements.
