A 55-year-old from the Kirchdorf district of Upper Austria contacted a supposedly famous guitarist via social media and fell in love. But it was a scammer who took a five-figure sum from her and asked her to take out a six-figure loan as well. Fortunately, the victim was denied this.
Between early February and 20 June 2022, the unknown man tricked the 55-year-old from the Kirchdorf district into making several payments in the five-digit euro series under the pretext of a love story. He also demanded a six-figure amount in euros. Because the 55-year-old had already taken out a loan before the previous payments and could not get more, she could no longer meet this requirement.
nondisclosure clause
The first contact was via a social media platform, where the man pretended to be a famous guitarist and sent her a nondisclosure agreement, which she had to return. After some time, he demanded a payment of money because, according to his statements, she should have violated the nondisclosure agreement. Shortly afterwards, the six-figure money claim followed, which never came again. A search for the unknown scammer turned up nothing.
