Her willingness to help cost a local resident a lot when a truck fire broke out in Laakirchen: she wanted to help and ran out of her restaurant, leaving a pan full of hot fat unattended in her kitchen. The owner was able to extinguish the fire herself, but did inhale light smoke.
A 23-year-old Polish citizen was driving a truck on the A1, Westautobahn towards Regau on Thursday. At the Lindach exit he drove away and heard two loud bangs. When he saw smoke coming from his hood, he stopped his vehicle and called emergency services. When emergency services arrived, the vehicle was already engulfed in flames and completely burned out.
Forgot the pan with fat?
The owner (64) of an adjacent restaurant saw that the truck was on fire, wanted to help and ran away. She forgot a pan of fat on the stove. When firefighters arrived, they noticed smoke coming from their business. She extinguished the fire herself with a fire blanket and was then treated by the rescue team for suspected smoke poisoning.
