“This is Spartaaa!” No, this Saturday the famous (movie) scream will not sound through the mighty ancient city-state – but through the center of the Schwechat Multiverse! With the third edition of Sparta Royale, another unique fighting spectacle awaits in a hay ring.
There is a rustle in the straw
What seems ‘Spartan’ is still martial arts at its best. The fight takes place over several rounds, using MMA gloves according to boxing rules. The camera rotates at full speed as athletes, sometimes from different disciplines (MMA, kickboxing, boxing, etc.), compete against each other and throw hard punches at each other. There’s a rustle in the straw!
“We want to offer sports and entertainment at the highest level,” says Magomed “Mago” Ozniev, explaining the idea behind the concept, which is unique in Austria and has already caused a sensation twice on a relatively small scale. His organization Sparta CF can also do big things: during the MMA event a year ago in the Wiener Stadthalle, 8,000 visitors came to the arena to experience great cage fights on site.
Respect is mandatory – but there must be a show!
The events in Sparta are tough and sometimes bloody. “But always with respect and honesty as a basis,” “Mago” directs the Spartans. Although they regularly verbally ‘burst’ each other beforehand, they sometimes insult each other wildly. “Show and entertainment are part of the job,” says the boss.

Stomach growls after victories
For the current “royal” edition, matchmaker Renato Eni Kepi and Co. Once again an illustrious fight card has been put together with exciting combinations. Many names have long been known to insiders. Suat ‘The Lion’ Sahin, who deals with Lukas Kra, describes himself as an ‘original Spartan’. The 26-year-old works seven days a week, training his knockout punches and getting strength from schnitzel or kebab in between. “What’s happening right now is that I’m not paying much attention to my diet,” grins the “lion,” whose stomach is already rumbling for victories.
And while well-known fighters such as Vladimir Tok, Smak Agron, Patrick Rainer, Tamirlan Dadaev and many others strike, Muslim Champ is also participating for the first time. The EMC champion from Germany already fought in the well-known organization KSW. Now he clashes with Andrea Carrano (Ita), who won nine of his eleven fights.
