The 73-year-old woman from Linz told police after the accident that she had had a “fatigue attack”. That is why she crashed her Mercedes into the facade of a supermarket in Leonding on Friday around 5 p.m.
Major damage to building
The driver survived the accident unscathed and because fortunately no one wanted to hand in the empty bottles, no further injuries were reported. However, there was significant damage to the car and building.
Emergency services from the Leonding and Rufling fire brigade recovered the vehicle and cleared the accident area.
