Three passengers were injured
At least three people were injured after a plane forcibly landed at the Miami airport on Tuesday, when the landing gear collapsed on landing, causing a fire.
The plane, owned by Red Air and originating from the Dominican Republic, had 126 people on board, three of whom were injured and taken to hospital, according to US network CBS News.
As the Red Air flight approached the runway, the landing gear “collapsed,” the Miami Federal Aviation Administration said in statements collected by the aforementioned media. The landing gear problem is believed to have caused the fire.
In the accident, the aircraft hit numerous objects and drifted into an area between the runway and the taxiway. After the plane came to a standstill, emergency services evacuated those on board and extinguished the fire.
