There is new excitement in Carinthia about the previous hacker attacks: the cybercriminals have probably republished data, including an expired passport of Governor Peter Kaiser. And not only that…
The aftermath of the cyber attacks on the Carinthian state government has dragged on for weeks: a major attack by the hacker group “Black Cat” became known at the end of May, there have been a number of other attacks since then and the cybercriminals continue to publish stolen data from the state. In addition to passwords, debit cards and ID cards, they may have leaked Governor Peter Kaiser’s expired passport…
What data has been published?
According to the initial information, the governor’s passport expired in 2018. At that time, Kaiser was already in office. Also, an old passport of LH deputy Beate Prettner should have been published. According to Kaiser, this data was likely siphoned off in the first attack, and there has reportedly been no more theft.
Access to FinanzOnline
As the online medium “5Minutes” reports, the hackers may also have published FinanzOnline data: it would be the access data – as participant ID, user ID and PIN code – of several people. The data was published as photos or screenshots. A registration certificate and, as with previous leaks, bank cards, Covid tests and visas were also published.
LH emperor left
State spokesman Gerd Kurath cannot yet confirm this message. Governor Kaiser is relaxed about the renewed publication: “I can neither confirm nor deny that it is my passport”, he tells the “Krone”. Kurath has announced a media event at 1:30 PM where there will be more information.
