Threatened with a knife – 16-year-old wanted to rob guests at the Matura ball

An unpleasant incident reportedly occurred on Saturday evening during a graduation ball in the Styrian municipality of Hartberg: a 16-year-old allegedly threatened two other young people with a knife and demanded money. After his arrest, the boy denied the crime.

A beautiful ball evening in Hartberg came to an unpleasant end on Saturday evening for two young people (15 and 16 years old). According to police, the two ball guests reported to security staff around midnight that they had been threatened with a knife by another youth. The suspect allegedly demanded money. However, no transfer took place.

The police were able to track down the suspect and found a switchblade and brass knuckles on him. The 16-year-old was temporarily arrested and questioned on Sunday. He has not pleaded guilty to the charge of attempted theft.
