After the murder of a woman (65) – blown up: body recovered from tunnels

Date:

In the case of the murder of Barbara R. (65) in a vineyard in Zistersdorf (Gänserndorf district), the body of murder suspect Oleg M. was finally recovered from the cellar tunnel on Sunday. After his crime, the Slovak barricaded himself there and then blew himself up.

With the help of robots, the 59-year-old’s body parts were recovered from the building, which was in danger of collapsing. The Korneuburg Public Prosecutor’s Office has ordered an autopsy, police spokesman Raimund Schwaigerlehner said on Monday. It is not clear that the dead man was Oleg M., but it is assumed.

DNA samples taken from corpse
According to Schwaigerlehner, the body was recovered from the basement tunnel late Sunday afternoon. Troops from the State Criminal Police of Lower Austria and the Directorate for Special Forces (DSE) were involved. To clarify the identity, DNA samples had already been taken from the corpse – also with the help of a robot. There were no results for now and the evaluation would take some time, it was said.

However, the autopsy of the victim, 65-year-old Barbara R., has been completed. According to Schwaigerlehner, the woman died from exsanguination as a result of her injuries. She was allegedly murdered on Friday by the 59-year-old Slovakian. The victim was found with stab wounds in a vineyard around 4:30 p.m. The woman and the suspect knew each other.

Cobra agent seriously injured
The 59-year-old then barricaded himself in the basement tunnel in Gösting for hours. On Saturday morning, a first attempt to gain access failed because the man detonated an explosive. One Cobra officer was seriously injured and another required outpatient treatment. The man’s body was eventually discovered in the tunnel in the afternoon hours and technical equipment had been brought into the basement.

The investigations will continue in Gösting at the beginning of this week. Other basement areas of the building that served as a hideout for the Slovak will be examined, among other things.
