At least 24 people were killed in a horrific traffic accident involving a tractor-trailer and a bus in northern Mexico on Saturday evening.
Another five people were injured in the accident in the state of Zacatecas, as the Secretary General of the regional government, Rodrigo Reyes, announced in a video on the online networks (see below).
Bus overturned after collision
According to Mexican media reports, the accident was caused by the trailer detaching from the tractor-trailer loaded with corn. The bus then collided with the semi-trailer and overturned.
The bus was traveling from the city of Tepic in the eastern state of Nayarit to Ciudad Juárez on the US border.
