Quickly caught – Bavaria: First responder stole accident victim’s bicycle

A young cyclist came across a thieving first aid worker after an accident in Bavaria. The drunk cyclist fell because he was typing on his mobile phone. A rescuer who promised the 19-year-old that he would take care of his mountain bike ended up stacking it as rescuers arrived.

The accident victim suffered minor abrasions during the fall in Rosenheim. The 21-year-old, who had rushed to the cyclist’s aid, offered to look after his mountain bike until emergency services arrived.

But as soon as emergency services arrived, the first aider jumped on the injured man’s bicycle and rode away. The police were able to arrest the thief near the scene of the accident.

The stolen bicycle was seized and returned to the owner, who is now charged with drink driving and a blood alcohol content of 1.60. An investigation into bicycle theft was initiated against the 21-year-old.
