From Monday, Tullnerfeld train station will be back in service – initially with restrictions. The shuttle service on line CJX5 starts at 4:48 AM from Vienna Westbahnhof and at 5:20 AM from Tullnerfeld.
In the morning (until 8:20 am) the trains run every half hour on weekdays, then every hour. In the afternoon and evening (2:18 PM to 8:18 PM from Vienna’s Westbahnhof or from 6:20 PM to 8:20 PM from Tullnerfeld), the connection is increased again to every 30 minutes.
The platforms can be reached via stairs or a lift, the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) announced in a press release on Friday. However, the usual infrastructure is not yet available. For example, shops are still closed.
Renovation not yet completed
“In addition, noise levels may be high in some cases due to the ongoing construction situation,” it says. The remaining renovation will be carried out “in the interests of passengers” during ongoing works. Until then, a mobile heating plant and a toilet container are used.
In mid-September, heavy storms flooded the train station. The trains on the Vienna – St. Pölten route are currently switching to the “old” western route; the “new” route will be used again from December 15. According to the ÖBB, another closure will take place in mid-2025, lasting about four weeks. The reason is the latest repair work.
