In a spectacular robbery in the northern Italian city of Piacenza on Sunday, a gang stole smartphones, PCs and tablets worth around one million euros from trucks and a warehouse of the logistics company DHL.
According to Italian media, the criminals were divided into three groups. An armed “unit” stormed the warehouse and threatened the guards, while another set up a barrier of broken-in vans that were set on fire. The other accomplices were responsible for spreading nails on access roads.
Police access prevented
The barriers served their purpose because the alerted police were initially unable to intervene. So the gang quietly took whatever they wanted.
The robbers then fled towards the highway. The alarm search is in full swing throughout northern Italy.
