An electric car and a small truck crashed together in Waidhofen an der Ybbs (Lower Austria). The occupants of both vehicles were injured.
Emergency services had to respond to a serious traffic accident in Waidhofen an der Ybbs. An electric car collided with a van. The force of the impact left the driver of the small truck trapped in the wreckage.
Rescue with hydraulic equipment
Even reaching the scene of the accident was difficult for the fire brigade volunteers, as within a short time a traffic jam had formed to the fire station and the road was closed.
“When we arrived on scene, we were able to free the woman from the rubble of her vehicle using a hydraulic rescue device. She was then treated by the emergency doctor,” reports one of the care providers.
Motorists also needed help
The driver of the electric car was also injured in the collision and required assistance from the emergency services. In collaboration with the police, the emergency services set up a diversion so that the traffic jam could disappear. The two pieces of wreckage were then removed.
