Tragic operation: firefighters found body in burned-out garage

Date:

At 2:40 p.m., ten fire brigades were called to a fire on a farm in Fornach in the Vöcklabruck district of Upper Austria. Apparently all the help came too late for the eldest member of the family.

When we arrived, half a building had already burned down. A neighbor who had tried to remove someone from the building was unable to enter the building due to the fire. This neighbor had received a tip from the wife of the possible victim that he might be in the building. Other neighbors also tried to contain the fire with fire extinguishers. However, the fire was able to spread to the other side of the building and was completely on fire after a short time.

Identity known but not yet clearly established
While extinguishing the fire, the fire brigade found a lifeless person in the building. The identity of the deceased has not yet been clearly established. The district fire investigator and the LKA Upper Austria were called in to investigate the crime.

Classic car fan
The approximately 80-year-old man, who according to the district fire department was known as a vintage motorcycle enthusiast, was probably with his old machines. To determine the exact cause of the fire, the police closed the building.
