Huawei’s latest smartwatch, the Watch D2, is actually only intended to measure blood pressure. However, sometimes it involuntarily causes it to rise. You will discover why this is the case in our test.
Too little exercise on the one hand, too much stress, unhealthy diet and obesity on the other, together with genetic predisposition, are among the most important risk factors for high blood pressure. According to the ÖGK, about every fourth person in Austria is affected, but half don’t even know it. And therein lies the problem. If high blood pressure goes unnoticed, there is a long-term risk of damage to blood vessel walls and strain on the heart without treatment, leading to heart attack or stroke – two of the most common causes of death in this country.
Knowing your blood pressure is therefore important in the context of healthcare. Alone: This is usually only measured regularly in older patients who are already aware of their disease. Although the arm cuff measuring devices used work reliably, they are usually cumbersome and therefore have limited use when traveling. This is where Huawei’s new Watch D2 comes into play, which brings several improvements over the first edition of the smartwatch presented in early 2023.
