Murder alarm in the center of Vienna: According to the police, a 70-year-old was killed. On Thursday, officers checked the home address of a pensioner after friends had not heard from him for days and became concerned.
When police opened the door, the man they found was found dead alone. Due to the nature of the injuries and the evidence, foul play may be suspected. There is currently no trace of the perpetrator(s).
Autopsy ordered
How the cruel act came about is still completely unclear. According to police, “a forensic autopsy was ordered to obtain information about the events of the crime.” According to police spokeswoman Anna Gutt, a preliminary result is expected this Friday.
Police did not provide information on how long the deceased had been in the apartment nor did they comment on the cause of death. Research reasons will probably play a role here. The crime scene was still being worked on Friday afternoon.
