Mega drone attacks – burning houses near Moscow, record in Ukraine

Date:

War-torn Ukraine was hit by a total of 145 drones on Sunday evening – a new record. The warmonger itself was also heavily attacked by drones.

The Russian capital Moscow has been the target of dozens of drone attacks since early Sunday. Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported that as of 10 a.m. local time (8 a.m. CET), 32 unmanned aerial vehicle attacks targeting Moscow had been repulsed. In the Moscow region, the districts of Ramenskoye, Domodedovo and Kolomna were affected. The anti-aircraft system is still in use, the report said.

According to authorities, during the massive drone attacks on Moscow, two houses caught fire due to falling debris from the downed flying objects. In the village of Stanovoje, a 52-year-old woman suffered burns to her neck, face and hands and was taken to a hospital, Moscow Region Governor Andrei Vorobyov said on his Telegram channel. He spoke of a massive drone attack. The burning houses were seen on videos on social networks.

The situation near Moscow:

Airports closed
There were temporarily no takeoffs and landings at the main airports of Domodedovo, Sheremetyevo and Zhukovsky – for air traffic safety, as the Russian Aviation Authority Rosawiyatsia announced on its Telegram channel.

According to authorities, several buildings in the Russian regions of Kaluga and Bryansk were also set on fire by Ukrainian drone strikes. “Rescue services and firefighters are on the scene,” the governor of the Bryansk region bordering Ukraine, Alexander Bogomaz, said on the short message service Telegram. According to Governor Vladislav Shapscha, a building also burned down in the Kaluga region south of Moscow after drone strikes.

Ukraine covered with 145 drones
Since the Russian attack in February 2022, Ukraine has been exposed to daily Russian airstrikes, which, among other things, repeatedly destroy important energy infrastructure. The country wants to hit military targets with drone attacks on Russia as part of its defense in order to stop supplies.

According to its own information, Ukraine shot down 62 Russian drones on Sunday evening. In total, Russia attacked with 145 drones. 67 drones disappeared from radar screens and another ten flew towards Russia, Moldova and Belarus. At least two people were injured in the attacks at the port of Odessa, authorities said.
