Helicopter operation – Two people are trapped in a car accident in Wies

On Saturday morning, a 24-year-old crashed into the car of a 55-year-old on the B 67 in Wies (Styria) for unknown reasons. Both people were injured and trapped in their car. Even the rescue helicopter Christophorus 11 had to be deployed.

A fatal accident occurred in the Deutschlandsberg district on Saturday morning. A 55-year-old was driving her car on the B 67 from Eibiswald towards Wies and stopped at the intersection to turn left. At the same time, a 24-year-old was driving in the same direction and raced straight towards the 55-year-old.

There was an immediate impact, the woman was thrown and came to rest in the adjacent meadow. Both drivers then became stuck in their vehicles and had to be cut free by the volunteer fire brigades Wies, Vordersdof and Eibiswald (34 men) using hydraulic rescue equipment.

The rescue helicopter Christophorus 11 also had to be deployed. While the 55-year-old was taken to LKH Wagna, the 24-year-old was flown to UKH Klagenfurt. Both vehicles were totaled. The Radlpass road had to remain closed for two hours.
