He has pointed out that according to what has been put forward by the provincial treasuries, “it does not appear” that there will be a “major” tax reform, but rather “a review.”

The president of the employers’ association Bizkaia Cebek, Carolina Pérez Toledo, has considered what was proposed by the provincial councils to encourage voluntary social security institutions (EPSV) to be insufficient and has indicated that the business community expected a “more ambitious” proposal.

During the presentation of the latest business survey, Pérez de Toledo referred to the tax reform announced by the Provincial Councils, which does not include demands from employers, such as the reduction of the corporate tax rate and the abolition of the wealth tax. by Cebek.

The consultation shows that tax burden is the second concern of companies, and that it is the first time that tax burden has occupied such a high place.

The business leader has indicated that according to what has been put forward by the provincial treasuries, “it does not appear” that a “major” tax reform will be implemented, but rather “a review.”

Asked whether the proposal falls short of encouraging economic activity, she replied that “it seems so”, although she pointed out that Cebek still does not have an in-depth understanding of this.

The manager recalled that employers’ demands include reducing the minimum corporate income tax from the current 17% to 15% and abolishing the wealth tax.
