Radio patrol on duty – three injured because police had priority

In Pasching near Linz, a 24-year-old driver relentlessly gave way to a radio patrol crew on an emergency trip with blue lights and a tracking horn. As a result, three people had to be hospitalized.

An officer of the Pasching Police Inspectorate was on Paschinger Landesstraße on Friday in a patrol car in the direction of Leonding. Despite the blue lights and horn on, a 24-year-old resident pulled her car from a parking lot on the priority road directly in front of the emergency vehicle.

Despite an immediate evasive attempt and emergency braking by the policeman, a right-angle collision took place in which both vehicles were badly damaged. The police officer, his colleague in the passenger seat and the driver of the accident were injured. All three had to be transported by ambulance to hospitals in Linz.
