For the third time in two days, the alarm has been raised in London and the surrounding area due to suspicious objects.
A package was detonated in a controlled manner at Euston train station in the British capital, Scotland Yard announced.
The incident took place just a day after London Gatwick Airport was partially closed on Friday – also due to a suspicious package. It was defused by explosives experts.
Suspicious package at US embassy
Also on Friday, a suspicious package was discovered near the US embassy in London. The area was also initially cordoned off there and the package was blown up. Scotland Yard later announced that initial findings suggested it was a dummy. It was initially unclear whether there was a connection between the incidents.
