The American computer company Apple has launched a new generation of its professional laptop Macbook Pro – with innovations such as an optional anti-glare screen and a new main processor. The M4 chip, which, like the iPhone, is based on ARM technology, had to compete with a Core i9 chip from Intel in the test – and achieved amazing things.
It’s been almost exactly four years since Apple ditched its long-standing processor supplier Intel and began equipping its Macbooks with Apple’s own silicon processors. They are based on the energy-saving ARM microarchitecture, which is also used in smartphones – and since Apple’s switch, they have regularly surpassed the slowly catching up Windows competition in the battery test. This is also the case with the M4 in the Macbook Pro – still with impressive power.
