A 92-year-old retiree threatened to fall from a rooftop in Leonding after feeling faint. The officers called in were able to get him to safety until the fire service arrived. Together they eventually managed to save the man.
Saturday around 4:15 pm, several police patrols were ordered to Leonding because a man threatened to fall from a roof.
8 meter fall threatened
On the spot, the officials were already expected by several passers-by. A 92-year-old man lay exhausted on the roof of a two-storey apartment building and threatened to fall eight meters. Police officers immediately climbed through a skylight and prevented the pensioner from slipping until firefighters arrived.
Together, the emergency services were able to rescue the 92-year-old through a roof hatch. The senior said he wanted to remove a chimney cap but ran out of power. The fire brigades Hart, Leonding, Axberg and Alkoven were deployed with eight vehicles and about 35 men.
