Conviction in January – DJ from Upper Austria killed in Thailand: it was murder

There, where many people spend their dream holidays, an Upper Austrian was brutally beaten to death in February. Max H. (42) was killed with an iron bar by a Moroccan (37) after an argument. The perpetrator has now been convicted by a court in Thailand.

He was an entrepreneur, hobby DJ and loved Thailand. But in February, Upper Austrian Max H. (42) was brutally murdered by an acquaintance on the holiday island of Koh Phangan. The perpetrator, a 37-year-old Moroccan who lived in Switzerland, was quickly caught. He is said to have killed the 42-year-old with a metal bar after an argument. Max H.’s body had serious wounds on his head and face.

Brother was in Thailand
Now the trial took place on the island of Koh Samui, and Max H.’s brother was there. “In fact, my little brother was the victim of a completely unnecessary attack, although the exact circumstances were not fully clarified during the trial,” he says. The judge decided on murder and the sentence (up to 25 years) will be announced on January 7.
