Terrible accident on Thursday evening on a farm in the Tyrolean lowlands: a 27-year-old got his hand stuck in the drive chain during maintenance work on a machine, causing his finger to be severed. The seriously injured man was taken to hospital.
The fatal industrial accident took place shortly after 7:30 p.m. in Kirchbichl in the Kufstein district. “The 27-year-old local man, for unknown reasons, got his right hand stuck in a drive chain on his farmland while servicing the baler,” police said, describing the horrific scenes.
Seriously injured brother warned
Part of his right index finger was cut off. “The injured man was able to use his cell phone to call his brother, who then initiated the rescue chain,” investigators continued.
Admitted to Kufstein Hospital
After initial treatment on site, the seriously injured man was taken by ambulance to the district hospital in Kufstein.
