Children love dinosaurs, prehistory and stories from long ago. Jutta Leskovar from Linz was another child who “dragged her parents to every castle and church.” But one thing sets her apart from many as an adult: she kept her passion and turned it into a career.
How did the ancestors live? Jutta Leskovar, head of the prehistory and early history collection at the Upper Austrian State Museum since 2001, was fascinated by prehistory as a child: “I was fascinated by the television series ‘Once Upon a Time Man’. “I was the kind of child who dragged my parents to every church and every old castle during the holidays,” she smiles during our interview, which takes place in the museum depot on Welser Straße in Leonding. Her picturesque office looks like the ones in the movies, filled with books and artifacts – as well as an Indiana Jones hat and a whip that a friend gave her as a gift when she started her career.
