There is uncertainty after a sailing accident on Lake Constance: a German and a British man were killed. How the accident happened remains a mystery to police.
On Friday afternoon around 2 p.m., two sailor friends left with their dinghy cruiser from Friedrichshafen on the German shore of Lake Constance to Konstanz for the “Regatta of the Iron”. But the two never arrived there. A police search was launched using a helicopter and a thermal imaging camera, but the men, aged 38 and 39, could not be found either at the lake or in the riparian area.
There was also no trace of her six-meter-long boat with a striking yellow sail with a skull motif. The two were only found on Saturday, floating lifeless off the Swiss lakeside near Münsterlingen. It is still completely unclear how the accident could have happened. That is why the police are now hoping for witnesses to the incident.
Last seen near Fischbach
The boat was last seen by a mutual sailing friend near Fischbach (Friedrichshafen). Due to the current, the location in Switzerland is probably not the site of the accident.
