Fright among passengers: a Wizz Air Group plane tried to land twice on the runway of Salzburg airport. Both attempts failed because the wind was too strong. The plane was diverted to Munich.
The eyewitnesses who reported to the “Krone” on Friday afternoon were surprised: the Wizz Air Malta flight, number W4 323, from Bucharest made the scheduled landing at Salzburg Airport shortly after 4 p.m. However, just a few meters above the ground, the wind blew so strongly beneath the plane that it had to climb back up and try again.
After a short loop the pilot tried again. And promptly failed again due to the strong wind! Ultimately, the landing risk turned out to be too great for the pilot. The plane was quickly diverted to Munich. There he placed the passengers safely on the ground.
